Question 1: Where can I get the most secure version of Termux?

Answer: One should refrain from downloading the app that is present on any of the app stores because it is outdated and there won’t be any further updates to it. One needs to get the latest version of Termux through APK files present on a reliable website.

Question 2: Why should I download an APK and not the one from the Play Store?

Answer: The version that is available through the Play Store is outdated due to some modifications in the Android policy, which implies the inability to update Linux packages. APK that is downloaded provides you with a Termux APK with an active package management system that works well.

Question 3: Is rooting necessary for the app?

Answer: No, it does not require rooting your phone. The latest version enables you to have a complete Linux shell running inside the Android app sandbox.

It becomes so easy for the developer to turn their mobile device into a mobile development environment using Termux. It is a free terminal emulator and a Linux environment that enables the execution of command-line tools right from your pocket without requiring root access.

If you are looking to start a journey with the terminal, one thing that you have to realise is that the most convenient method to install the app is to download the original APK file from here. By doing this, you can have the latest version of the app, and your packages will be actively supported.

After that, you will be able to code in Python or C, use SSH remote server management, and work with Git and Vim. In order to achieve something meaningful and secure on the go, you should download the Termux APK package.
